For the first time in several months, both Rothesay ferries were able to
stay overnight at the pier on Bute. Argyle lay at the old
side-loading berth, minus linkspan while Bute lay at the new loading
berth. As a result the timetable has returned to normal and the 1815 sailing
no longer goes to Gourock. |

Heavy traffic delayed Caledonian Isles today, though given that it
was the Bank Holiday weekend this was not a great surprise. In the Western
Isles the Lochnevis had to carry out an extra sailing to Eigg this
evening to bring back extra passengers who could get onto the inward sailing
earlier in the afternoon. |

Clansman called in at Craignure on her way out to Barra this

Musical ferries today as Loch Buie sailed from Oban direct to
Fionnphort in order to resume her normal duties. This freed Loch Linnhe
to head around the north end of Mull, back to Tobermory, passing Clansman
in the northern end of the Sound of Mull. Raasay in turn returned to
Oban |

Loch Linnhe left Craignure this morning and is now in service on the
Fionnphort - Iona route. Loch Buie made her way to Craignure and
arrived there this evening. She will sail for Corpach tomorrow morning.
Argyle was delayed during her refuelling period this lunchtime. Her
1215 ex Wemyss Bay was 25 minutes late, holding up Bute in the
process. Argyle continued to get later through the afternoon and
rather than passing off Toward Point, the two ships were seen passing in
Rothesay Bay (well caught Zak!!)

It appears that Loch Buie has suffered some sort of ramp defect. She
is to be relieved tomorrow by Loch Linnhe which is spending tonight
at Craignure. Raasay earlier made her way from Oban to Tobermory and
will take the Kilchoan sailings from tomorrow. |
