2007 SITE SURVEY RESPONSE
Main 2007 Site Survey Response

Site Survey

We would like to say Thank You to the many who have responded to our 2007 Site Survey so far - one of a annual set which we hope to continue!
Our aim is to let us know what you think about our site so we can improve on what we have already been told is a 'great experience' by many...

If you haven't filled it in yet - you can do so HERE! (opens in a new window)

Below is a list of any comments we felt needed addressing or replying to...

Some of the histories are not entirely up to date and the ends of them could perhaps be checked from time to time. I understand thought that there's a lot of stuff on the site and it takes time to get round it all. Ships in the past year have undergone some radical movements and keeping up with them is sometimes difficult, however they have now settled down and we can now updated there settling in moments. As a matter of course we are updating all the Terminals now and the ships histories will follow suit.

Perhaps make ships, crossings etc in alphabetical order for ease of finding information. Crossings are currently grouped by the area that they are usually classified under. I.E. all 'Mull' area crossings are grouped together etc. Area headings for each 'group' of routes are being considered and will possibly be added at a later date.

More entries in the daily logs (Fleet News). Agreed - we would like to have comprehensive up-to-date information posted live as it happens - something which we are lucky enough to be able to do occasionally. Our network of reporters keep us up to date as possible and we update the Fleet News ASAP. The new Forum will hopefully allow us to increase the news band with reports from new sources across the network. Alternatively if you have anything to report - contact us via the Contacts Page.

Lots of incomplete sections that have been that way for a while. We do strive to keep the whole site as up-to-date and complete as possible - however older sections of the site can unfortunately slip past us. Let us know what need update - changing or is getting on your nerves and we'll look straight into it. Contact us via the Contacts Page.

(Include) Photograph albums. SoC did used to have them but scripting errors and misuse unfortunately forced us to close them. We don't currently see any return of them to the main site. An alternative is to join our Forum and post your pictures there!

A section for travellers comments into CalMac services. We have posted a few 'Stores' in the Fleet Features and 'Past Crew' sections but don't currently have one for travellers comments. Our Forum has been set up to start to develop this idea. Post your Travellers Comments in our Forum.

It (SoC Forum) would not accept my data; no reason was given  ....  if still unsuccessful, no problem; I have enjoyed the site for many years and will continue to do so. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties in our Forum. If you contact a member of the Admin Crew via the Forum they will be able to help you if you still wish to proceed. Forum Admin Crew can be found at the 'Contact Us' link in the bottom right of the main Forum page.
