In 1947 Waverley undertook her maiden voyage on the route for which she had always been intended – the cruise up Loch Goil and Loch Long to the villages of Lochgoilhead and Arrochar. She sailed under the command of Captain John Cameron DSC, who had been navigating officer on the bridge of the previous Waverley when she succumbed to the Luftwaffe.
